Survey – Online Training Courses
Following the success of their #WingedWednesday webinar series, Bats Without Borders have received requests to run online training courses. To better understand what type of courses would be most useful for people’s careers, they have set up a short survey to find out what you would like to learn. So please take a few minutes to complete their short survey to suggest what courses would be of interest to you and which would most benefit your career. Their survey ends on Friday 26 June.
Women for Conservation Zambia is excited to launch its first virtual mentoring program starting on the 25 June 2020 at 1400 to 1500. Eleven incredible conservationists from Zambia, and across the globe, will be available to provide valuable professional advice and skills to early career conservationists in Zambia. The mentoring program will run for six months and each mentor will have monthly meetings with their mentee on different topics.
Three of the Women for Conservation mentors (Patricia Mupeta Muyamwa of The Nature Conservancy, Kaize Griffin Shanungu of the International Crane Foundation and Kristina Kesch of Frankfurt Zoological Society) will be talking briefly about their experience as conservationists and what they hope to offer as mentors.
Being mentored is a valuable and effective development opportunity. Women for Conservation passionately believe that guidance, encouragement, and support from the trusted and experienced mentors will provide a broad range of personal and professional skills leading to personal and professional success in the conservation field.
It is not too late to sign up to become a mentee. For more information and to register for the Zoom Webinar, contact Maina at maina@wcpzambia.org.
During their 10 weeks training, CLZ’s K9 Unit have been working hard and are now ready for the field .
The two new dogs, Kalo and Amor, have been imprinted on firearms, ammunition, ivory, rhino horn, bushmeat and pangolin scales enabling them to successfully conduct operational open area searches for forensic evidence, vehicle checkpoints and baggage searches.
They have now progressed to low-risk operations in the field for practical learning and to further reinforce their training.
