Musekese Conservation is a Zambian NGO dedicated to preserving core areas of the Greater Kafue
Ecosystem. Through strategic resource protection, scientific research and monitoring, and meaningful
community engagement. Our mission extends beyond conservation efforts to empower local communities through education, sustainable livelihoods, and capacity-building initiatives.

The organisation is looking for a motivated and experienced Human Resource (HR) Manager to lead and oversee HR functions, ensuring the organisation attracts, develops, and retains a highly skilled and motivated workforce. This is a newly created position to support its growing team.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with Zambian labour laws and international
best practices.

• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, contracts, and internal HR policies.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job advertisements, interviews, and contract
preparation.
• Oversee employee onboarding and induction programmes.
• Implement and manage the performance appraisal system.
• Design and oversee training and development programmes for staff capacity building.
• Serve as the point of contact for all employee relations issues, ensuring fair treatment and conflict
resolution.
• Promote a positive work environment through engagement initiatives and staff well-being programmes.
• Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with Zambian labour laws.
• Oversee payroll processing in collaboration with the Finance Department.
• Ensure competitive salary structures and benefits are aligned with NGO industry standards.
• Monitor compliance with pension, social security, and health insurance schemes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
• Develop HR reports for management and donors as required.
• Perform any other HR-related tasks as assigned by senior management.

Requirements
To be successful in the role of HR Manager, you should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in HR or relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR management, preferably in the NGO sector.
• Strong knowledge of Zambian labour laws and HR best practices.
• Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Driving licence and ability to travel to project locations in the Greater Kafue Ecosystem

Remuneration
Negotiable based on experience and to be discussed with the successful candidate.
