Helen Taylor Boyd

Conservation Officer

Bats without Borders

As an ecologist, Helen studies animals and plants, as well as the interactions between them and with their surroundings. Part of her role is to investigate the the important ecosystem services provided by species assemblages and also potential impacts that humans have on ecosystems. She has a particular interest in wildlife occurring in human dominated landscapes, such as urban and agricultural areas.

Helen is currently conducting a PhD part time, whilst also working as an ecologist conducting biodiversity surveys for environmental impact assessments. She spends her spare time developing research and conservation work on southern African bats through NGO Bats without Borders. Her passion for nature stems from travelling and growing up in remote wild spaces, and the encouragement of family.
